Bio Statement There are all kinds of cloud storage services out there, but most of them only come with general plans and they are not full cloud backup solutions. Those apps will install additional software to provide extended functions, or place library files and associated application dependencies elsewhere in OS X. You can manually delete all the accompanying components as well, but it would be better to run the specialized uninstaller to fully remove the application alone with its bundled software or associated items.

Unless you subscribe to one of Carbonite's premium plans, the service only backs up the folders containing your data files, not the critical executable files that your operating system uses to run your computer. The best feature of premium is its courier service in which Carbonite will send you a hard copy of all of your backed up files.

Click for more You can browse deleted files and restore them to iCloud Drive individually. Carbonite is a fine online backup service. Depending on the size of your restoration, you can either restore over the Internet by downloading a compressedzip file, or if you want to pay extra you can order a USB flash drive or a USB hard drive.

Backing up PST files is cumbersome, you cannot backup or restore one email. Or you can park important files online using Apple's iCloud, Microsoft's OneDrive or Dropbox; each includes sync software that presents them as if they occupied yet another folder on your hard drive.

This is one of the most important pieces in a solid backup workflow, and the reason for using redundant drives-if you're in a car accident, your office burns down, or some other catastrophe occurs, you still have another copy of the original files on your redundant drive.

You could download files from iCloud and Google Drive, or you could just create a full backup on your computer. You may also manually restore some data files from the backupzip (or another backup made using another method), or a single file or report for instance.

Carbonite takes a different approach to cloud backup Its hosts all of its customers' backups on one of three Carbonite data centers. Even if you never turned on backups for your Windows computer, you still might be able to restore recently deleted files. When you store something in the cloud, it's saved online to servers instead of a hard drive.

These plans are useful to backup photos, documents, music and other home and office files. If you need a copy of your chat conversations, email newsletter subscribers, form data, and other web app info, you're in luck. Carbonite lets you access your files from any internet-connected device, so your stuff is with you wherever you go.

Acquiring Zmanda filled the database backup gap that limited the value of Carbonite's cloud backup service for small businesses. Backing up these business-critical areas is actually quite easy — because nowadays, almost all calendar, contact and email data is inherently cloud-based (or at the very least cloud-connected).

To uninstall the software and plugins that don't show up in the Application folder or come with a uninstaller, you are supposed to go to their official websites and look for their own downloadable uninstallers or the uninstallation instructions provided there.
